The Russians launched 29 assaults on the Pokrovsk sector over the past 24 hours
Since the start of the day on August 25, Russian troops have engaged in 173 combat encounters with Ukrainian defenders. The highest number of attacks was recorded in the Pokrovsk and Kostiantynivka sectors. In total, the occupiers carried out 58 airstrikes, dropped 201 guided bombs, and launched over 6,500 kamikaze drones.
According to military reports, the Russian army continues to attack Ukrainian positions on several fronts. Since the start of the day, the enemy has carried out 58 airstrikes, used 201 guided bombs, and deployed 6,517 kamikaze drones.
In addition, Russian troops fired on Defense Forces positions and populated areas 1,965 times.
Where the Russians Attacked the Most
In the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors, Ukrainian forces repelled two attacks. The Russians also carried out an airstrike with four guided bombs and launched 65 artillery attacks, six of which were fired from multiple-launch rocket systems.
In the Southern Slobozhansky direction, the occupiers attempted seven times to storm Ukrainian military positions near Izbytske, Starytsia, and Vovchansk. As of this evening, one engagement was still ongoing.
In the Kupiansk sector, Russian forces attacked the positions of the Defense Forces twice in the direction of Kurylivka and Kivsharivka.
Ukrainian defenders repelled two more attempts to advance in the Lyman direction near Shyikivka. One clash there was still ongoing.
In the Sloviansk sector, Russian forces made 11 attempts to advance near Dibrova, Kryva Luka, and Rai-Oleksandrivka. Ukrainian troops repelled all of these attacks, and one battle was still ongoing.
In the Kramatorsk sector, three attacks were recorded in the Yurkivka area.
In the Kostiantynivka sector, 22 assaults were repelled
The Kostiantynivka sector remains one of the hottest fronts. Here, Ukrainian forces repelled 22 enemy assaults near Kostiantynivka, Illinivka, Dovha Balka, Rusyn Yar, and Ivanopillia.
The situation was even more challenging on the Pokrovsk sector. There, Russian troops carried out 29 attacks. The occupiers attempted to advance near Svitlyi, Novyi Donbas, Hannivka, Bilytske, Shevchenko, Myrne, Vasylivka, Serhiivka, Udachne, Bilyakivka, Muravka, Molodetskyi, Novopavlivka, Hruzke, and Chernihivka.
According to preliminary data from the General Staff, Ukrainian forces killed 48 Russian soldiers in this sector during the day, and another 24 occupiers were wounded.
Ukrainian defenders also destroyed one tank, two artillery systems, 20 vehicles, two pieces of specialized equipment, and 31 enemy shelters.
Another five artillery systems, 10 vehicles, two drone control centers, and 102 enemy positions were damaged.
In addition, in the Pokrovsk sector, Ukrainian forces destroyed or neutralized 371 drones of various types.
Attacks are also continuing in the south
In the Oleksandrivka sector, the Defense Forces repelled three Russian attacks in the Oleksandrohrad and Krasnohirsk areas.
In the Huliaipole sector, the occupiers made three attempts to attack Ukrainian military positions near Verkhnia Tersa, Bilohirya, and Chervona Krynytsia.
In the Orikhiv sector, Ukrainian forces repelled one enemy attack in the Pavlivka area.
In the Dnipro sector, no Russian assaults were recorded over the past 24 hours.
In other sectors, according to the General Staff, there were no significant changes in the situation. Thus, the heaviest fighting on August 25 took place in the Pokrovsk and Kostiantynivka sectors, where Russian troops carried out a total of 51 assaults. In total, 173 combat engagements took place along the entire front line over the past 24 hours. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported on the situation at the front on August 25.
As a reminder, on August 23, Russian forces attacked a train station in the Kharkiv region with a drone while a passenger train carrying evacuees was stopped. Two women were killed in the strike, and five others were injured.
On August 23, Russian terrorist forces attacked Ukraine’s railway infrastructure five times. One person was killed and four others were injured as a result of the strikes.
On August 23, Russian forces attacked the locomotive of passenger train No. 147, traveling from Zhytomyr to Odesa, with a rocket-powered drone. The train was stopped and passengers evacuated in time before the strike, so neither passengers nor railway workers were harmed.
