Russians strike cargo train with drone in Dnipropetrovsk region

Russia has carried out another series of attacks on Ukraine’s port and railway infrastructure. In the morning, a drone struck a cargo train in the Dnipropetrovsk region, injuring two railway workers.

This was reported on Telegram by the Ministry of Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine.

“This morning, the enemy attacked the railway infrastructure of the Dnipro region. During the movement of a cargo train, a UAV hit the locomotive. The driver and his assistant were injured and were promptly provided medical assistance,” the report said.

Yesterday, 4 March, a Russian strike drone hit a civilian trading vessel leaving a Ukrainian port via a sea corridor. One crew member was injured and received medical care.

Additionally, last night, drones attacked a railway station in Odesa region, damaging several wagons. No casualties were reported.

The ministry emphasizes that these attacks target Ukraine’s civilian logistics—railways and shipping. Russia aims to undermine Ukraine’s economy and global food security.

Ukrzaliznytsia canceled some trains on 2 March due to security concerns.

Ukrzaliznytsia is introducing dynamic pricing for luxury tickets and new refund rules.

The company is also temporarily suspending payments on eurobonds.
