The Russians attacked power facilities in Slavutych and cut off power to the entire city

On the morning of March 25, Russian occupation forces launched a targeted strike on the energy infrastructure of the city of Slavutych in the Kyiv region.

Mykola Kalashnyk, head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, officially reported on the consequences of the shelling.

As a result of the enemy attack, the town was temporarily left without centralized power supply, which created significant challenges for the community’s daily life.

According to him, the large-scale emergency left about 21,000 local residents without power, but utility workers promptly began restoration work.

“Critical infrastructure has been switched to backup power sources. Social facilities are operating on generators,” Kalashnik said.

This approach has ensured that hospitals and other strategically important facilities continue to operate as usual, despite the lack of a stable power supply in the general grid.

Despite power outages, the situation in the city remains under control.

The head of the Regional State Administration clarified that mobile communications and internet access are currently functioning without disruptions, allowing residents to receive up-to-date information and stay in touch with their loved ones.

Emergency repair crews are already working at the sites of the outages.

The main task of the power engineers is to stabilize the system as quickly as possible and restore power to residents’ homes. The exact completion date for the repair work is currently being determined based on the extent of the damage to the equipment.

As a reminder, power will not be cut off for consumers with distributed generation.

Additionally, due to shelling, some regions are without power: rolling blackouts are in effect across Ukraine.
