Russians attack Kharkiv and region with drones: child and pensioner injured
Over the past day, 2 March, Kharkiv and 12 other settlements in the region came under massive strikes by Russian forces.
According to the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov, an 80-year-old woman and a 10-year-old girl were injured as a result of a UAV strike on the Shevchenkivskyi district of the regional centre.
The enemy used a wide range of weapons against civilians: two guided aerial bombs (KABs), seven Geran-2 drones, two Molniya drones and one FPV drone. In addition, 36 more UAVs were detected in the air, the type of which is currently being identified by specialists.
In Kharkiv, the main strike hit residential areas, damaging five apartment buildings and five private vehicles.
Shelling also caused significant damage to power grids in the city, resulting in temporary electricity outages.
Civilian infrastructure in districts across the region was also damaged. In Borova, Izium district, a Russian shell damaged an educational institution, while in the settlement of Budy, Kharkiv district, power lines were once again hit.
The private housing sector in Lozova also came under fire, with three residential houses damaged.
At the same time, the city continues its humanitarian mission: over the past day, a transit evacuation centre received another 146 people fleeing combat zones.
In Chuhuiv district, the enemy struck the villages of Fedorivka and Pishchane, damaging two private houses. The village of Kamiana Yaruga suffered the most damage, with four homes, an outbuilding and local power networks affected.
In total, more than 21,000 people have passed through the transit point in Lozova since it began operating.
Earlier, Russian forces attacked settlements in the Donetsk region 14 times over the past day, resulting in fatalities.
Ukrainian air defence also neutralised 127 enemy drones during a massive attack.
