Russians attack cemetery in Cherkasy on Christmas Eve
On 24 December, Russian occupying forces attempted to strike the city of Cherkasy with missiles.
Cherkasy Mayor Anatolii Bondarenko reported that the attack damaged a local cemetery, including tombstones and the Alley of Heroes.
The head of the Cherkasy Regional Military Administration, Ihor Taburets, clarified that Ukrainian air defence forces neutralised a missile in the Cherkasy area. As a result of the strike, one person was injured, though the injuries are not serious. A school, a garage cooperative, and the cemetery were also damaged.
An inspection of the affected area is ongoing, and all relevant emergency services are working at the scene.
