Russian drone strikes passenger bus in Kharkiv region, one dead and four injured
The Russian army struck a passenger bus with a drone in the Velykoburlutska community in the Kharkiv region. Preliminary reports indicate that one person was killed and four others were injured. Law enforcement and emergency services are working at the scene.
This was reported on Facebook by Andrii Kanashevych, head of the Kupiansk District Military Administration.
“On 13 March at 09:15, on the road near Nova Oleksandrivka, Velykoburlutska community, there was a drone strike (preliminarily a Lancet) hitting a passenger bus travelling from Kharkiv to Velykyi Burluk. According to operational information, one civilian was killed and four others were injured,” he wrote.
Details and circumstances are still being clarified, Kanashevych added.
According to Anna Hontar, spokesperson for the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, four injured people are in hospital.
“They suffered blast injuries. This includes three women aged 44, 53, and 59, and a 70-year-old man. All are in a stable condition of moderate severity,” she said.
Earlier reports note that Russia may launch a new massive strike in the coming days, according to the National Security and Defence Council.
Meanwhile, Russian forces lost another 860 soldiers on the front line over the past day, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Over the past twenty-four hours, Ukrainian troops repelled 122 enemy attacks along the entire front line. The most intense fighting was recorded in the Huliaipole and Kostiantynivka directions. The enemy used air strikes, kamikaze drones, and artillery, but the defence forces inflicted systematic fire damage on the occupiers.
In the Zaporizhzhia region, Ukrainian soldiers destroyed a Merlin-VR drone.
