The Russians attacked Ukrnafta's production facilities and a drilling site
On the night of August 9, Russian troops launched a massive strike against facilities belonging to the Naftogaz Group. Ukrnafta’s production assets and a drilling site were targeted in the attack.
This was reported by the Naftogaz Group. According to the company, Russia deployed dozens of attack drones against the production infrastructure. As a result of the attack, the facilities sustained significant damage, some equipment was put out of commission, and operations at the site were suspended.
Employees at the attacked facilities were unharmed thanks to the safety measures in place.
Naftogaz noted that this is the third consecutive day that Russian troops have attacked the group’s facilities. On August 7 and 8, seven UKRNAFTA gas stations in the Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Mykolaiv regions came under drone attack. One employee at a gas station was injured as a result of one of the strikes.
In addition, on August 8, Russian forces attacked Naftogaz production facilities in central Ukraine with rocket-powered drones. The facility sustained serious damage.
“In recent days, the intensity of enemy attacks on oil and gas infrastructure has increased significantly. It is clear that the enemy’s goal is to inflict maximum damage on Ukrainian production and other critical infrastructure to prevent preparations for the heating season. Our priority is to save lives and continue working, even under such difficult circumstances,” emphasized Acting Chairman of the Board Serhiy Fedorenko.

As a reminder, on the night of August 7, Russian troops launched one of the most massive strikes against Naftogaz Group facilities in eastern Ukraine. Seven Ukrnafta assets involved in oil and gas production were targeted in the attack.
Since the beginning of the year, Russia has destroyed 37 Naftogaz gas stations.
