The Russians tried to shoot down a Ukrainian drone and accidentally destroyed their own ammunition depot
Soldiers from the 42nd Separate Mechanized Brigade recounted an incident in which an attempt by Russian forces to take down a Ukrainian drone resulted in the explosion of their own ammunition depot.
On one sector of the front line, the occupiers used electronic warfare equipment against a Ukrainian drone, but their intervention caused a fire and the detonation of the enemy’s ammunition depot.
According to the brigade’s intelligence, the Ukrainian drone was spotted by Russian troops while carrying out its flight mission. The occupiers decided to employ countermeasures—either using electronic warfare (EW) systems or attempting to shoot down the drone with live fire to force it to land.
As a result of this interference, the drone did indeed lose its original course and changed its flight path. However, the direction of its descent proved fatal for the invaders themselves—the drone crashed directly onto the roof of a building where the occupiers had prudently set up a field ammunition depot.
The Ukrainian UAV’s strike on the building triggered an immediate fire, which quickly escalated into a massive detonation of enemy munitions.
Ukrainian intelligence reports that as a result of the incident, the Russian ammunition depot was completely destroyed. The occupying forces lost an important logistical hub and a significant stockpile of shells on this section of the front line due to their own uncoordinated actions.
Soldiers of the 42nd Separate Mechanized Brigade ironically note that the enemy’s peculiar “ingenuity” in combating Ukrainian drones has once again helped the Ukrainian Defense Forces effectively demilitarize the invaders.
This was reported with reference to servicemen of the 42nd Separate Mechanized Brigade (42nd SMB) of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, who shared details of an incident that was both bizarre and successful for Ukrainian forces.
Russia attacked the Kramatorsk community; there are casualties and wounded.
