Russian Air Defense Missile Hits Apartment Building in Novorossiysk

In Novorossiysk, Russia, an air defense missile struck a residential building during an attempt to intercept an aerial attack.

Preliminary reports suggest that the incident was caused by a malfunction in the occupiers’ air defense system.

Local residents and eyewitnesses have shared footage showing the aftermath of the missile hitting the civilian structure.

It is likely that the missile was fired from a Pantsir-S1 surface-to-air missile and gun system, which, instead of intercepting the target, deviated from its trajectory.

As a result of the incident, windows were blown out, the facade and structural elements of several floors were damaged.

Information on casualties among civilians is currently being clarified by local services.

The Russian command traditionally tries to conceal the causes of such damage, blaming falling debris. However, the nature of the destruction and the direction of impact indicate that the missile was fired from Russian air defense positions.

Recall that unknown drones recently attacked the port of Novorossiysk, causing a fire.

Additionally, the Ukrainian Armed Forces struck a command post and warehouses of Russian occupiers in Belgorod and on temporarily occupied territories.
