Russian officers are trying to quickly leave the Pokrovsk direction
In the Pokrovsk direction, Russian military personnel are facing a high level of demoralisation. Officers of the 39th Guards Motor Rifle Brigade are reportedly submitting mass requests for transfer to rear areas, indicating the command’s inability to keep subordinates in their positions.
This was reported by the partisan movement “ATESH”.
The command is exerting harsh pressure, threatening disciplinary sanctions for the loss of positions and demanding reports on the so-called “stable situation,” while the real situation turns out to be far from that description.
The issue of security remains urgent, as Russian officers are constantly afraid of attacks by the Defence Forces of Ukraine, partisan actions, and information leaks about their positions. The importance of the Pokrovsk direction is increasing due to its strategic significance for control in eastern Ukraine.
At the same time, while Ukrainian forces continue to maintain control over the northern part of Pokrovsk, Russian forces are trying to intensify assaults but are facing significant losses and difficulties in advancing.
A buildup of Ukrainian forces for the resumption of offensive actions is being observed, according to military commanders. The situation on the front line remains tense, which suggests potential changes in the military strategies of both sides.
From the beginning of Monday, January 5, 172 combat engagements were recorded on the front, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported.
It is recalled that Putin ordered infrastructure to be protected from Ukrainian drones by reserve forces.
The General Staff confirmed strikes on the Syzran oil refinery and other strategic facilities of the Russian Federation.
In addition, long-range drones of the SBU Special Operations Centre “Alpha” successfully struck two key facilities of the Russian oil and gas sector.
In the Russian city of Saratov, a fire was recorded in the area of the local oil refinery.
