Russian invaders are unsuccessfully attempting to break through Ukrainian Armed Forces defenses on various fronts
Over the past few days, Russian occupiers have attempted to break through on various sectors of the front. Ukrainian defense forces managed to halt the occupiers’ offensive operations and repel their attacks.
In the north of the Sumy region, the occupiers carried out limited offensive operations but were unable to advance.
Attacks by Russian troops in the north of the Kharkiv region and northeast of Velykyi Burluk were also unsuccessful.
The Ukrainian military refutes Russian claims that Ukrainian Armed Forces units have been surrounded in the northeast of the Kharkiv region. In particular, on September 11, a spokesperson for the Ukrainian brigade operating in the area denied reports that Dovzhanka, Vasylivka, and Blahodatne had been captured. According to him, this territory remains a disputed “gray zone.”
At the same time, Russian troops have intensified their offensive operations in the north of the Kharkiv region. According to analysts, this may create an exaggerated impression of the scale of the occupiers’ advance on the eve of the elections to the Russian State Duma.
In the Kupiansk direction, the Russians also conducted limited offensive operations but were unsuccessful. Ukrainian forces, in turn, launched a counterattack near Zakhidne, north of Kupiansk.
In addition, the Ukrainian military continued to carry out medium-range strikes against Russian military targets in the occupied territory of the Luhansk region.
On other sections of the front, Russian troops also made no confirmed territorial gains. In particular, their offensive operations in the Dobropillia area, on the Oleksandrivka axis, as well as on the Huliaipole axis and in the western part of Zaporizhzhia Oblast, made no progress.
The ISW notes that Russian sources are exaggerating the scale of the occupiers’ advance toward Sloviansk and Kramatorsk in an attempt to prematurely declare that Russia has achieved its objectives in the area of Ukraine’s “fortress belt.”
Kostiantynivka remains a separate challenge for Russian forces. The Russians have not yet established full control over the city, which complicates the establishment of necessary supply lines and, consequently, hinders a further advance north of it.
On the Zaporizhzhia front, Russian forces are also attempting to create conditions for encircling Orikhiv and cutting off the Ukrainian logistics routes that supply the city.
As a reminder, as of September 12, Russia had lost 1,505,380 invaders in the war.
On the night of September 12, Ukrainian drones continued to respond symmetrically to Russian attacks on our cities. The drones struck two Russian cities—Tolyatti and Taganrog.
In Turkey on September 12, Vladimir Putin, president of the Russian Federation—the aggressor state—stated that the deployment of European troops in Ukraine would mean war with Moscow.
