A Russian strike destroyed the office of a Kyiv-based children's book publisher
As a result of the Russian attack on Kyiv on July 8, the office of the “Mamine Sonetchko” publishing house was destroyed. The premises housed children’s books, magazines, and other published materials.
The publishing house suffered significant losses due to the shelling. The extent of the damage and the consequences of the enemy strike are currently being assessed.
“Yesterday, a missile struck our office, the ‘Mamyne Sonetchko’ publishing house, where children’s magazines and books were stored and literature for young children was created. Many books and magazines were burned,” the statement reads.
“We will restore everything so that young Ukrainians will love books from an early age and become patriots of their native Ukraine,” the publishing house emphasized.
This was posted on the publishing house’s Facebook page.
As a reminder, NATO does not believe that Russia is capable of capturing the belt of Ukrainian fortress cities in Donbas by the end of 2027.
The pace of the Russian army’s advance in Ukraine in June 2026 slowed by nearly four times compared to the same period last year.
