The Rostov Region came under a massive air attack

On the night of April 21, the Rostov Region of the Russian Federation came under a massive drone attack, resulting in damage to infrastructure.

The most explosions were recorded near the city of Novocherkassk, where rail service was temporarily suspended due to the attack.

According to official information from Yuriy Slyusar, governor of the Rostov region, air defense forces attempted to repel the attack in eleven districts of the region.

It is reported that over forty drones were allegedly destroyed over Taganrog and other settlements.

The main consequence of the night’s events was a serious disruption to rail transport in the Oktyabrsky District.

Near the village of Persianovsky, damage to the overhead contact line was reported, leading to a complete halt in train traffic on strategic routes.

Due to a technical malfunction, three trains heading north near the Novocherkassk station were blocked.

At the same time, four more passenger trains were forced to stop in the southern direction near the Kamenolomni station.

Russian authorities confirmed the scale of the incident but, as usual, emphasized the successful operation of their defense systems. Governor Slyusar stated: “Power to the overhead contact line has now been restored, and train service has resumed in both directions.”
