Investigators have found evidence that Yanukovych's ex-wife may have died
The ex-wife of former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych, 77-year-old Lyudmila Yanukovych, may have died in Russia.
Journalists traced the phone number she used to log in to the Russian “Gosuslugi” portal. Since June 19, 2026, this number has been listed in the relevant registry as belonging to a deceased person.
There is currently no other confirmation of Lyudmyla Yanukovych’s death, so this information remains merely one of several possibilities. The couple officially divorced in 2017 after 45 years of marriage, after which she led a private life.
