The SBU Destroyed a Russian Tu-95 Bomber in Engels — Zelenskyy
On July 17, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that the Ukrainian Defense Forces had carried out successful long-range strikes against Russian military and infrastructure targets.
According to him, the Security Service of Ukraine destroyed a Russian Tu-95 strategic bomber at an airbase in Engels. The head of state noted that this aircraft was being used by the Russian military to launch missile strikes against Ukraine.
“I am grateful to our soldiers for their accuracy. Once again, long-range strikes against Russia in this war have been successful. Specifically, the SBU destroyed a Tu-95 military aircraft in Engels that was being used for Russian missile strikes on our country. The distance from our state border is about 800 kilometers,” Zelenskyy said.
The president also announced the destruction of Russian oil industry facilities and specific targets in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.
“We are raising the cost for Russia for its aggression against our state and our people,” Zelenskyy emphasized, thanking the Ukrainian military for their operations.
The president announced this on Telegram.
As a reminder, Robert “Madyar” Brovdi, commander of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ Unmanned Systems Forces, released a video showing the destruction of Russian vessels belonging to the so-called “shadow fleet” of the Russian Federation.
The Russians attempted to shoot down a Ukrainian drone and accidentally destroyed their own ammunition depot.
