Air defense forces neutralized more than half of Russian drones
From 6:00 p.m. on December 16, Russian forces carried out an attack on Ukraine using 69 strike drones of the Shahed type, “Gerbera,” and others. The drones were launched from various directions, including Kursk, Oryol, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Millerovo, and occupied Crimea.
The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, including aviation and anti-aircraft missile units, repelled the attack, also employing electronic warfare units.
As of 9:00 a.m. on December 17, air defense forces had destroyed 37 drones. However, the attack was ongoing, and enemy drones remained in the sky. These events are part of Russia’s continued efforts to escalate the conflict, posing serious threats to Ukraine’s security.
