There may be a Russian mass missile strike tonight — Zelensky
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has warned of the possibility of a new mass strike by Russia on the night of 9 January.
He urged Ukrainians to pay close attention to air raid alerts today, tomorrow, and in the coming days, noting that Russia is attempting to take advantage of the weather conditions.
“All day today there have been reports from the government and all services working around the clock to deal with the aftermath of Russian strikes,” Zelensky said.
According to him, following attacks on infrastructure in the Dnipro region and Zaporizhzhia region, there have been serious problems with electricity supply and other resources. In Zaporizhzhia, power has been restored according to schedule, whereas in Dnipro, Kryvyi Rih, Nikopol, and Pavlohrad, restoration work is still ongoing.
The President also reported new strikes on energy infrastructure and the civilian sector, particularly in Kryvyi Rih, where residential buildings were damaged. He instructed the government to provide maximum assistance to local authorities and all those involved in restoration efforts.
The Mayor of Dnipro has issued a warning to residents due to the prolonged blackout.
Earlier reports stated that during a Russian drone attack in Dnipro, around 300 tonnes of oil spilled onto roads. American property was also damaged.
Additionally, Russian forces attacked Dnipro with drones, causing damage to an industrial facility.
