On the morning of April 16, a Russian attack drone struck a residential high-rise building in the Podilsky district of Kyiv. The extent of the damage is still being assessed.

The Kyiv City State Administration reported this on Telegram.
“In the Podilsky district, an enemy UAV literally crashed into an 18-story building. It was flying very low,” the message reads.
Emergency services were quickly dispatched to the scene.
Since last night, Russian troops have been carrying out a combined attack on Kyiv using missiles and drones. As a result of the shelling, a fire was reported in a residential building, and damage was caused to high-rise buildings.
In particular, in the Podilskyi district, rocket debris struck the sixth floor of a 16-story building. The first floor of a private home was also destroyed—rescuers pulled a child and her mother from the rubble and handed them over to medical personnel.
In the Obolon district, falling debris caused a large-scale fire in a non-residential building, and several cars also caught fire.
According to available information, a 12-year-old boy and a 35-year-old woman were killed in the attack. Another 10 people were injured; six of them were hospitalized, while the others received on-site medical care.
Overall, Russian forces have been carrying out massive missile and drone strikes on Ukraine for the second day in a row. Kyiv, Dnipro, Odesa, and Kharkiv came under fire.
Over the past 24 hours, from 7:00 a.m. on April 15 to 7:00 a.m. on April 16, Ukraine’s air defense forces neutralized 667 aerial targets used by Russia to attack the country’s territory.
In Dnipro, the death toll has risen following a nighttime attack by Russian forces. As of now, two people are known to have been killed and 27 wounded.
At least four people were killed. Another 21 people were injured.
Earlier, Russian troops attacked the Bila Tserkva district in the Kyiv region, resulting in a fire at one of the enterprises.
