Power outages were reported in Kyiv and five regions due to Russian attacks

As a result of Russian attacks on energy infrastructure, as of the morning of September 30, some consumers were without power in Kyiv and five regions of Ukraine.

According to the Ministry of Energy, due to hostilities and Russian shelling of energy infrastructure, some consumers are without power in:

  • Kyiv;
  • Kyiv Oblast;
  • Dnipropetrovsk Oblast;
  • Donetsk Oblast;
  • Sumy Oblast;
  • Kharkiv Oblast.

“As a result of hostilities and Russian shelling of energy infrastructure, as of this morning, some consumers in Kyiv and the Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Sumy, and Kharkiv regions are without power,” the Ministry of Energy reported.

Energy officials plan to begin restoration work as soon as the security situation allows.

At the same time, the ministry noted that power rationing is not expected on September 30.

“No restrictions are expected today,” the statement said.

Given the situation in the power grid, Ukrainians have been asked, if possible, to shift their peak electricity usage to daytime hours—from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

According to Ukrenergo, electricity consumption in Ukraine has decreased.

As of 9:30 a.m. on September 30, consumption was 2.1% lower than at the same time the previous day—September 29.

Ukrenergo explained that one of the reasons for the decline in consumption was clear weather in most regions of Ukraine, with the exception of some eastern regions. This facilitates the efficient operation of residential solar power plants and, consequently, reduces the amount of electricity drawn from the main grid.

At the same time, the daily peak in consumption on September 29 was recorded in the evening. It was 1.3% higher than the peak of the previous day—Monday, September 28.

This was reported by the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine.

In the Solomyanskyi district of Kyiv, during an air raid alert, a Russian drone was reported to have struck a 12-story non-residential building. According to preliminary data, no fire broke out following the strike. Rescue workers, medical personnel, and other emergency services were dispatched to the scene.

A drone strike in the Kyiv region caused a fire in several buildings; two people were rescued.

As a reminder, debris from a Russian drone caused a fire in a five-story building in Kyiv.

Following the Russian Federation’s nighttime attack on Kyiv, an educational institution was hit.
