The Kremlin is not yet ready to comment on a possible ceasefire in the air
Russia has stated that it is currently too early to assess reports of a possible cessation of airstrikes between Ukraine and Russia. This refers to an initiative that the United States and Ukraine are reportedly discussing as part of efforts aimed at ending the war.
Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov noted that Moscow will respond to any new peace proposals only after examining them in detail. According to him, Russia’s position will depend on the extent to which such initiatives align with the Kremlin’s interests.
“We do not know how reliable these reports are or where they come from. These are newspaper reports and nothing more. Therefore, it is too early to comment on them at this stage,” he said.
Peskov noted that Russia’s reaction to new initiatives will depend on whether they align with the Kremlin’s interests:
“We have heard statements suggesting that new proposals may be possible. We still need to learn more about them. And over time, some proposals or suggestions will likely be put forward. What happens next will depend on how well they align with our interests.”
