In Zaporizhzhia, there are currently no plans to evacuate residents of certain districts
Despite the deteriorating security situation and the increasing number of drone attacks, the issue of evacuating residents from districts in Zaporizhzhia is not currently being raised. The Zaporizhzhia Regional State Administration stated that there are no plans to evacuate residents from any district of the city.
Mykhailo Semikin, acting head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional State Administration, made this statement during a television broadcast.
“There is no talk of an evacuation from ‘Pisky’ today. Of course, after nearly five years of full-scale war, Zaporizhzhia has an evacuation plan, and this applies to every district of the city, not just Kosmichny. We’ve also conducted drills. But having such a plan and implementing it are two different things. There is no question of evacuating people at this time,” he assured.
According to Semikin, work is underway with air defense forces. Over 500 million hryvnias have been invested over the past two years. 230,000 square meters of anti-drone nets have already been installed on the city’s streets, and we are stepping up efforts with mobile shelters. The next shipment is scheduled for October.
As for the evacuation of communities near the front lines, 217 people left in August, and 163 in September. The regional governor noted that the situation is becoming more complicated and asked people not to wait, but to leave if they have already decided to do so, because tomorrow that opportunity may no longer be available.
