Ukraine Aims to Force Russia to End the War Before Winter — Zelenskyy
Ukraine will make every effort to force Russia to end the war before the start of winter 2026. To this end, Kyiv will continue to intensify diplomatic and sanctions pressure on the aggressor in cooperation with its international partners.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy made this statement during a meeting with Ukrainian ambassadors in Kyiv, according to RBC-Ukraine.
According to the head of state, one of the main tasks for Ukrainian diplomats this year is to provide maximum support for the government’s foreign policy efforts in cooperation with international partners.
The president noted that it is currently impossible to predict exactly when diplomatic efforts, Ukraine’s far-reaching sanctions, and sanctions pressure from allies will yield results. At the same time, he said, the level of this pressure must be such that Russia has no choice but to end the war.
“We will do our utmost to ensure this happens before winter, this fall, but we clearly understand who we are dealing with and that Putin hopes to drag this war out further. He is preparing for mobilization and new attacks. We see Russia’s true intentions, are uniting our partners, and are putting pressure on the aggressor,” Zelenskyy said.
