On the night of October 2, 2026, Ukraine attacked four Russian oil refineries at once
On the night of October 2, Ukraine attacked four oil refineries in Russia. This was stated by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak, who claimed that all attacks were successfully repelled and that the facilities’ industrial equipment was not damaged. At the same time, he clarified that potential damage is currently being assessed at one of the plants.
“Just last night, our four plants came under attack. We effectively repelled all attacks on our facilities,” Novak said.
The deputy prime minister did not specify which facilities were targeted. Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed that long-range strikes had been carried out on Russian territory and stated that oil facilities in the Samara and Volgograd regions had been hit over the past 24 hours.
The monitoring channel Exilenova+ published a video of a fire at the “Samara” oil pumping station in the Samara region—a facility belonging to the “Transneft” system. There were also reports of a fire near the Volgograd Oil Refinery, one of Russia’s largest oil refining facilities.
This is according to reports from Russian propaganda media.
Ukraine struck Russian oil facilities and military targets in five regions and in the Black Sea, according to Zelenskyy.
As a reminder, on September 17 and during the night of September 18, 2026, the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck a number of important military facilities belonging to the Russian occupation forces. Among the targets were an “Orion” UAV ground control station, a storage and launch site for attack drones, an ammunition depot, and a depot for the enemy’s logistical supplies.
On September 7 and during the night of September 8, 2026, units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck a number of key military targets belonging to the Russian occupation forces.
