Ukrainian drones have tripled the pace of destroying Russian air defense systems
Over the past three months, the rate at which Russian air defense systems have been neutralized has increased 3.4-fold, fundamentally altering the situation in the airspace.
This rapid increase in the occupiers’ losses directly correlates with the increased effectiveness of the Ukrainian Defense Forces’ long-range strikes on strategic Russian targets.
According to OSINT analyst Kyle Glenn, who relies on the official dashboard of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ Unmanned Systems Forces, 85 air defense systems have been destroyed since the beginning of 2026.
This includes both high-cost anti-aircraft missile systems and critically important radar systems for target detection.
The rate of destruction of enemy systems has been explosive: while about ten systems were eliminated each month in the second half of last year, the current figures are staggering.
In January 2026, 21 systems were destroyed, and by March, this figure had reached a record high of 39 units.
The analyst emphasizes that this increase represents about 240% compared to the previous three-month period.
“This almost certainly explains the increased effectiveness of Ukrainian long-range strikes,” notes Kyle Glenn in his analysis on social media platform X, pointing to a direct link between “blinding” the enemy and successful strikes.
It is worth noting that the figures cited reflect only the results of the Unmanned Systems Forces, which are just one part of the overall defense mechanism.
The actual losses of Russian air defense forces may be significantly higher, as the statistics do not include the achievements of other units that use missile systems and artillery.
As a reminder, border guards destroyed $28 million worth of Russian equipment in a single night.
Additionally, the Defense Forces destroyed the Russian Spirit-030 satellite communications terminal for the first time.
