Ukrainian forces repel Russian quad bike assault near Yampil (video)
Ukrainian defense forces repelled an attempt by Russian troops to storm positions on quad bikes in the direction of Yampil.
This was reported by the Telegram channel of the Ukrainian Ground Forces.
According to the military, the enemy tried to take advantage of severe weather conditions—heavy snowfall, strong winds, and near-zero visibility—to move an assault group unnoticed. Due to the weather, aerial reconnaissance was limited, and Russian troops hoped to advance covertly.
“The group was detected on the road to Yampil. Pilots of the SIGNUM battalion immediately engaged. They worked in pairs—precise, calm, without chaos. Coordination, experience, and teamwork produced results,” the video caption states.
As a result, the assault was completely repelled. Enemy personnel were neutralized, and hostile equipment was destroyed by fire.
About Yampil
The settlement of Yampil is located in northern Donetsk region near the Sloviansk front line. It is strategically important due to its position on transport routes and proximity to key populated areas of Donetsk.
Russian forces are attempting to break through to Dronivka using small group tactics, but the Ukrainian Armed Forces continue to inflict losses.
As of January 5, 2026, daily losses of Russian occupiers amounted to 990 personnel, over 200 pieces of equipment, and more than 700 drones.
