There are already seven casualties in Izyum following a Russian airstrike

As a result of a Russian guided aerial bomb strike on Izyum in the Kharkiv region, the number of casualties has risen to seven. Among them are three children; two minors and three adults were hospitalized, according to the regional military administration.

 

On the afternoon of July 17, Russian troops launched a guided airstrike on Izyum in the Kharkiv region. Initial reports indicated three casualties, but the number of injured later rose to seven. This was reported by Oleg Synyegubov, head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration. According to him, three children are among the injured. An 8-year-old boy sustained the most severe injuries, suffering blast wounds. A 16-year-old girl was also injured—she sustained injuries from shards of glass. Both children were hospitalized, and medical personnel are providing them with the necessary care.

Another injured child is a 13-year-old girl. Doctors diagnosed her with an acute stress reaction. Her condition is being monitored by medical staff. In addition to the children, three adults were injured. A 21-year-old man, a 40-year-old man, and a 50-year-old woman were taken to the hospital. All of them sustained blast injuries of varying severity.

Another victim is a 66-year-old woman. Doctors diagnosed her with an acute stress reaction. She is currently under medical supervision and receiving the necessary care. “An 8-year-old boy suffered blast injuries, and a 16-year-old girl sustained glass-related injuries. They have been hospitalized,” said Oleg Synyegubov, head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration.

According to the regional military administration, a Russian aerial bomb struck the IOMZ area—the former Izyum Optical-Mechanical Plant—and near the railway market. The explosion damaged utility buildings, warehouses, and other structures. The blast wave shattered windows in nearby buildings. Specialized services are still assessing the full extent of the damage.

Rescue workers, law enforcement officers, medical personnel, and local government officials continue to work at the scene. They are surveying the area, documenting the consequences of the Russian attack, and assisting the victims. “A 40-year-old man, a 21-year-old man, and a 50-year-old woman also sustained blast injuries. They have also been hospitalized,” said Oleg Synyegubov.

Earlier, the Regional Military Administration reported three casualties following the second strike on the city. After further verification, it became known that the number of injured had risen to seven. Information on the consequences of the attack continues to be updated, and relevant services are working at the site of the strike.
