Infrastructure has been damaged and there are power outages in Odesa following a drone attack by Russia
On the night of April 10, Russian forces launched a massive attack using strike drones on Odesa and the surrounding region. The shelling resulted in damage to infrastructure and power outages.
This was reported by Oleg Kipper, head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, on Telegram.
“Last night, the Odesa region again came under a massive attack by enemy UAVs targeting energy and port infrastructure,” he stated.
According to the official, the damage caused by the strike led to power outages. Empty tanks and equipment at one of the ports were also damaged.
“Fortunately, there were no casualties. The fires that broke out have been contained. All emergency services are on the scene. The assessment and mitigation of the consequences are ongoing,” Kipper added.
Serhiy Lysak, head of the Odesa City Military Administration, clarified that one of the infrastructure facilities in Odesa was under attack.
“The enemy attacked our city with drones almost all night. Thanks to the Defense Forces, residential buildings remained undamaged. Damage to an infrastructure facility has been recorded,” he noted.
According to preliminary data, no reports of casualties have been received. Emergency services continue to deal with the aftermath of the enemy attack.
Additionally, Russian troops carried out 810 strikes on 42 settlements in the Zaporizhzhia region over the past 24 hours. One person was killed and nine others were wounded as a result of the attacks.
Ukraine’s air defense forces shot down 113 drones used by Russian troops to attack the country starting the evening of April 9. At the same time, enemy drones were recorded striking six locations.
Prior to this, Ukrainian defense forces struck the “Krymskaya” oil pumping station in the Krasnodar Krai of the Russian Federation. A fire broke out there following the attack. Warehouses and military equipment in the occupied territories were also targeted.
