In Odesa, a Russian drone hit an Evangelical Christian prayer house — Zelensky
In Odesa, a Russian unmanned aerial vehicle struck a prayer house of Evangelical Christians. Overall, more than 50 strike drones attacked the city and surrounding region. The primary targets of the enemy were energy facilities and civilian infrastructure.
This was reported by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky.
“Five residential buildings were damaged by this strike, with significant destruction to apartments and entrances. As of now, dozens of people have been injured, including children,” the president’s statement reads.
He added that all emergency services are involved in the rescue operation, which will continue until the fate of all people potentially trapped under debris is clarified. “One of the Russian drones hit a prayer house of Evangelical Christians,” Zelensky emphasised.

According to him, during the night, Russian attacks also targeted Lviv, Dnipro, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Sumy, and Kharkiv regions. “The Russians aimed at energy and other critical infrastructure. It is known that people have been injured. In total, overnight, Russia launched 165 strike drones at Ukraine, about 100 of which were Shaheds,” the president said.
Zelensky noted that each enemy strike on Ukraine “undermines diplomacy, which is still ongoing,” and also impacts the efforts of partners who are helping to end the war.
On the night of 27 January, Russian forces carried out another massive attack on Odesa, deploying Shahed strike drones.
On the evening of 26 January 2026, the Russian army attacked Kharkiv and settlements in the region with ballistic missiles, causing widespread power outages and destruction of civilian infrastructure. In Kharkiv, the number of people injured as a result of the massive night drone attack on 24 January rose to 27.
On 19 January, Russian forces struck Kharkiv with guided aerial bombs.
