An oil refinery in Orsk was shut down following a drone attack
The Orsk Oil Refinery in the Orenburg Region of the Russian Federation has completely halted operations following an attack by Ukrainian drones.
Regional Governor Yevgeny Solntsev stated that debris struck the plant’s key infrastructure, which cannot be repaired at this time. According to him, sanctions have made it difficult to replace imported equipment.
Repairs to the refinery could take up to six months. Regional authorities are already preparing for the worst-case scenario and plan to import fuel from other regions.
According to Solntsev, about 80% of the region’s 287 gas stations are currently operational. The fuel situation remains challenging but under control.

As a reminder, the Russian oil refinery “Orsknefteorgsintez” halted oil processing following an attack by Ukrainian drones on August 11.
