Ukraine announces offensive operation in northern Donetsk region
In northern Donetsk region, Ukrainian forces have launched an offensive operation, Brigadier General Andriy Biletskyi said. This was reported by Defense News, which published a Reuters report.
Operation Vivaldi
According to Biletskyi, the operation, called “Vivaldi,” is being conducted by the Third Army Corps. He said the corps had cleared an area of 75 square kilometers of Russian groups that had infiltrated the area and had also regained control of another 10 square kilometers.
Biletskyi also reported disruptions to the logistics of Russia’s troops — the aggressor state. According to him, Ukrainian units cleared three villages and the area around another settlement. The village of Serednie, the commander claims, is fully under Ukraine’s control.

Area of the operation
According to Biletskyi, the area of the operation is located north of Sloviansk and Kramatorsk, which are described in the report as key stronghold cities in the region. Russia seeks to establish control over the entire Donetsk region of Ukraine; this is its main territorial demand in negotiations.
Reuters said it was unable to independently verify Biletskyi’s claims. Determining the line of control at the front is difficult due to the active use of drones, which has created a wide zone between the sides’ positions.
