Ukrainian Armed Forces refute fake claims about the alleged capture of Siversk — the city remains under Ukraine’s control
False reports are spreading online claiming that Siversk has supposedly come under the control of Russian forces. However, officially the city remains under the control of Ukraine’s Defense Forces.
This was reported by the 54th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Hetman Ivan Mazepa.
According to the military, despite difficult weather conditions and heavy fog, the enemy continues attempts to infiltrate with infantry groups. On the approaches to Siversk, Ukrainian units are inflicting significant losses on Russian assault groups, destroying up to half of their personnel.
Despite this, some small enemy groups manage to enter the basements of multi-storey buildings, which complicates their rapid neutralization. The occupiers also try to place their symbols on certain buildings to create the appearance of control over the city. However, all such actions result in losses for the enemy and bring no real gains.
The military urges citizens to verify information and rely only on official reports of Ukraine’s Defense Forces.

Units of the Defense Forces have also conducted an organized withdrawal from part of their positions near the villages of Lysivka and Sukhyi Yar, close to Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad in Donetsk region.
