Video: Oil refinery catches fire after attack in Orsk
On the morning of August 11, a fire broke out at an industrial facility in Orsk, Orenburg Oblast, Russia. According to reports, the fire started following an attack. The facility produces about 30 types of petroleum products, including gasoline, diesel fuel, jet fuel, fuel oil, bitumen, and lubricants.
According to monitoring sources, the “Orsknefteorgsintez” oil refinery may have been targeted. Information regarding the extent of the damage is currently being verified.
“Orsknefteorgsintez” is one of Russia’s largest oil refineries. The plant is located in Orsk and has a refining capacity of approximately 6.6 million metric tons of crude oil per year.
The company produces about 30 types of petroleum products, including automotive gasoline, diesel fuel, jet fuel, fuel oil, bitumen, and lubricants.
The company processes crude oil and produces a wide range of fuels. Its products include gasoline and diesel fuel, which are of strategic importance to the Russian economy and transportation system.
The plant also has facilities for primary oil refining, catalytic reforming, and the hydrotreating of diesel fuel and kerosene, as well as production of lubricants and bitumen.
Earlier, the General Staff confirmed a strike on the TANECO oil refinery in Tatarstan.
As a reminder, a Russian attack on the Poltava region damaged a gas station and a facility.
In Dnipro on Friday, August 7, a World Health Organization humanitarian warehouse was destroyed as a result of the attack. There were no people on the premises at the time of the strike, and no casualties were reported.
Over the past 24 hours, the occupiers lost 1,130 troops and more than 400 pieces of military equipment.
In the Kherson region, one person was killed and two were wounded as a result of Russian shelling.
