Video: Oil depot serving occupiers explodes in Russia’s Krasnodar Krai
On the night of 16 March, Russia’s Krasnodar Krai came under a massive drone attack. The main target of the strike was an oil depot that had been supplying the front.
This was reported by the operational headquarters of Krasnodar Krai.
The first reports of explosions near the local oil depot appeared on local Telegram channels at around 2:00 a.m. Residents of Labinsk shared videos capturing the moment of the strike and the subsequent powerful fire in the city’s industrial area.
The operational headquarters of Krasnodar Krai later confirmed the incident. However, following the usual practice of Russian authorities, the cause of the fire was described as the “falling debris of a downed unmanned aerial vehicle.”
“Following a UAV attack, a fire broke out at an oil depot in the industrial zone of Labinsk. According to preliminary information, there are no casualties. Four fire crews, personnel of fire and rescue units, and specialists from the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in Krasnodar Krai have been involved in extinguishing the fire.”
Open flames were observed at the oil depot, and a column of black smoke could be seen several kilometres from the scene.
Earlier, on 14 March, the Defence Forces of Ukraine struck the Maykop Air Base located in the Republic of Adygea in Russia. According to available information, the attack targeted the airfield’s infrastructure.
Meanwhile, the Defence Forces are preparing a large-scale offensive in the south, according to Oleksandr Syrskyi.
Earlier in the day, 66 Russian attacks were recorded along the front line. The enemy is most actively assaulting the positions of Ukrainian forces in the Kostiantynivka direction. More than twenty combat clashes have already taken place there, and some of the fighting is still ongoing.
