Video: Electricity and water cut off in occupied Mariupol following explosions
In the temporarily occupied city of Mariupol in Donetsk Oblast, power and water outages occurred following explosions on August 5 and during the night of August 5–6.
According to the city council, Robert Brovdi (“Madyar”), commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces, reported damage to the “Mirna,” “Misto-11,” and “NS-2” power substations.
According to the city council, local residents are reporting power outages and disruptions to the water supply in various parts of the city.
It is also noted that the occupying administration has organized water deliveries to certain neighborhoods. Local news outlets are publishing the addresses of water tanks, where lines have been forming since early this morning.
The Mariupol City Council noted that it had previously been reported that power substations had been damaged in the Nevsky neighborhood, near the Mirny microdistrict in the Kalmiuskyi district, as well as the 750 kV “Pivdennodonbaska” substation in the Nikolsky district.

As a reminder, the temporarily occupied cities of Alchevsk and Perevalsk in Luhansk Oblast have been left without centralized water supply due to accidents on the water main. The occupying authorities have not indicated when water service will be restored. This was stated on August 2 by Oleksiy Kharchenko, head of the Luhansk Regional Military Administration.
On July 29, Russian occupation forces struck the village of Raigorodok in Donetsk Oblast, killing a 37-year-old woman and injuring six people with varying degrees of severity. As a result of enemy strikes on the residential area, 12 homes were damaged.
