Video: 14 people were killed and 27 were injured as a result of the Russian Federation's attack on the Kyiv region
As a result of a nighttime attack by Russian forces on the Kyiv region on August 5, 2026, 14 people were killed and another 27 civilians were injured. Emergency responders continue to deal with the aftermath of the strikes and extinguish fires in several districts of the region.
“Unfortunately, 14 people were killed and 27 were injured during the nighttime enemy attack. All the injured are receiving the necessary medical care,” according to a statement from the State Emergency Service.
Currently, State Emergency Service units are operating at four locations in the Brovary District, two in the Bucha District, and one in the Fastiv District.
In the Brovary district, the attacks caused large-scale fires in warehouse buildings in the city of Brovary, the village of Velyka Dymerka, the village of Kvitneve, and the village of Peremoha.
In the Fastiv district, a fire involving vehicles was extinguished on the premises of one of the enterprises.
In the Bucha district, efforts are ongoing to extinguish a fire at a warehouse in the village of Chaiky. In the village of Sofiivska Borshchahivka, a fire at a logistics facility has been extinguished.
According to Ukrzaliznytsia, there are fatalities who were found on a railroad platform near the attacked logistics centers. During the massive combined attack, train service and station operations were suspended, and station staff and train passengers were evacuated.
Casualties among Russian occupation forces in the full-scale war against Ukraine have begun to outpace the rate of mobilization efforts in the Russian Federation.
Russian dictator Vladimir Putin signed a law expanding the list of individuals eligible to sign contracts with the Ministry of Defense during mobilization, martial law, or wartime.
