Video: At least 20 people were injured as a result of a nighttime Russian strike on Kharkiv
On the night of September 28, Russian troops attacked the Kyiv and Saltiv districts of Kharkiv with guided bombs. At least 20 people were injured in the strikes, including eight children, according to Mayor Ihor Terekhov and Oleg Synyegubov, head of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration.
Terekhov posted about the first strike at 4:06 a.m.—according to him, the enemy launched a double strike on the city’s Kyivsky district, and the consequences were still being assessed at that time. Eleven minutes later, the mayor added: According to the Situation Center, one of the strikes occurred near apartment buildings in the Saltivsky district.
At 4:20 a.m., the first reports of casualties in the Saltivsky district emerged. A few minutes later, Terekhov clarified that as a result of the shelling of two districts with guided aerial bombs, several residential buildings were damaged in both the Kyiv and Saltiv districts, and at 4:28 a.m., he added: According to the Situation Center, a guided aerial bomb struck one of the apartment buildings in the Saltivsky district.
According to Synyegubov’s latest report, the number of casualties from the strike in the Saltivsky district has risen to 20 people, including eight children. A 12-year-old and an 8-year-old boy were hospitalized, while six other children—a 3-year-old girl, a 9-year-old boy, a 10-year-old boy, a 7-year-old girl, and a 15-year-old girl—received medical attention at the scene.
According to the head of the Regional State Administration, the strike hit an apartment building—the impact struck the second floor, causing the second and third floors to collapse. Units of the State Emergency Service, medical teams, and police are working at the scene.
As a result of yet another attack by Russian drones on Kyiv on September 27, debris from the downed targets fell in the Holosiivskyi, Darnytskyi, and Solomianskyi districts of the capital. This was reported by Mayor Vitali Klitschko.
