Video: Ukrainian forces break through Russian defenses in southern Dnipropetrovsk region
Ukrainian troops are conducting offensive operations in the southern part of Dnipropetrovsk region and have breached Russian occupiers’ defenses.
This was reported by fighters of the 425th Separate Assault Regiment “Skelya.”
According to their information, during the operation Ukrainian units advanced more than 10 kilometers into enemy positions and liberated the settlement of Ternove.
The operation began on January 30, 2026. Around 200 Ukrainian servicemembers participated in the assault. The direct phase of clearing the settlement lasted three days and involved intense combat.
After the main phase of the operation, fighting continues in the area, as Russian forces attempt to hold some positions and conduct counterattacks.
Preliminary estimates indicate that over 600 Russian occupiers were neutralized during the operation, with significant losses to enemy personnel.
Earlier, it was reported that Ukrainian counterattacks in the south could disrupt Russia’s spring–summer offensive plans. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy also stated that this winter the Armed Forces of Ukraine maintained control of all key defensive positions.
