The war continues because Russia is unwilling to end it — Zelenskyy

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that the sole reason the war continues is Russia’s unwillingness to cease hostilities. He made this remark in an evening address to the nation on August 9.

“The only reason this is still going on is Russia’s unwillingness to end this war,” Zelenskyy said in his evening address.

According to the president, Ukraine continues to strike Russian oil refining infrastructure. Ukrainian forces have also targeted Russian anti-aircraft missile systems and radar stations, as well as Russian infrastructure in the Azov and Black Sea regions.

Zelenskyy emphasized that Ukraine will respond to Russian attacks.

“Every Russian strike will be met with a response from us. The Russian war will be felt more and more acutely by them at home, in Russia,” the head of state declared.

Zelenskyy made these remarks in a video address posted on Telegram.

As a reminder, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that if Russia continues to shell civilian logistics facilities in Ukraine, the Ukrainian Armed Forces will launch even more powerful retaliatory strikes against Russia’s logistics system.

Russian troops are making new advances near Kostiantynivka in the Donetsk region. Changes on the front lines were documented by the DeepState monitoring project.
