Russian authorities plan to hand over Russian Post warehouses to Wildberries – Bloomberg

The Russian government is considering transferring “Russian Post” warehouse hubs to Wildberries sellers due to the company’s loss of nearly 20% of its logistics capacity as a result of drone attacks.

The Russian government may offer a support package to sellers on the marketplace, which has lost nearly 300 billion rubles worth of goods. This package includes payment deferrals of up to one year, subsidized working capital loans provided by state-owned microfinance companies, and tax cuts.

In addition, the option of locating warehouses abroad is being considered. Wildberries is currently building complexes in Astana and Almaty, but they are not scheduled to become operational until the first quarter of 2027.

On the night of August 4, drones attacked warehouse facilities in the Moscow and Leningrad regions of Russia. A fire broke out following the strike in Chekhov, and authorities in the Leningrad region confirmed an attack on a warehouse at the Wildberries logistics complex in the village of Krasny Bor.
