As a result of a drone attack, a Russian tanker is slowly sinking underwater
The Russian oil tanker Valeriy Gorchakov sustained significant damage as a result of a drone attack near the maritime terminal of the Novoshakhtinsk Petroleum Products Plant on December 18.
According to the Telegram channel Crimean Wind, the tanker began to slowly sink underwater, with its stern almost completely submerged.
As a result of the incident, two crew members were killed, including the cook and a mechanic, and there are also injured crew members. As of the evening of December 17, the tanker was located at berth No. 69 of the Port of Rostov-on-Don, but no rescue operations had been observed at that time.
The vessel Valeriy Gorchakov, built in 1969 and converted for the transportation of petroleum products in 2004, became another victim of the growing tension in the region.

According to information from Ukrainian monitoring channels Exilenova+ and Supernova+, the tanker Valeriy Gorchakov may have been hit. The vessel was originally built as a dry cargo ship but was later converted into an oil tanker.
New videos of the tanker Valeriy Gorchakov, which was damaged during the night attack on Rostov-on-Don on December 18, were published online. As a result of the strike, the vessel began to sink — its stern section was flooded almost up to the level of the superstructure. Two crew members were killed — the cook and the engine mechanic.
