On the night of 13 January, Russian forces attacked central Odesa, damaging residential buildings, a lyceum, a hospital and a kindergarten.

According to preliminary information, five people were injured. Numerous fires were also reported, including at a fitness centre and a newly built residential property, with the shelling causing significant destruction.

The situation in the city became tense following repeated enemy attacks that resulted in damage to social infrastructure facilities.

“Fires broke out in an unused new building, the premises of a fitness centre, a vocational lyceum building, as well as a nearby garage with a passenger car. Firefighters promptly extinguished the fires,” the State Emergency Service of Ukraine reported.

SES psychologists provided assistance to 14 people, including a child.

Overall, damage from the attack was also recorded in several other districts of the city that were affected during an air raid alert declared across many regions of Ukraine.
