Zelenskyy announced new measures targeting Russian oil

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has promised new long-range operations designed to make the aggressor nation pay for the war it started with its own losses. The head of state finalized these plans during a detailed meeting with Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi and Chief of the General Staff Andriy Hnatov. The president emphasized that if Russia continues to choose military action, the Russian oil industry will continue to shrink.

Zelenskyy made this statement in his evening address.

During his speech, Zelenskyy also mentioned a report by the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), led by Major General Khmara, regarding internal security. He assured that the state would act with the utmost severity against those who, instead of supporting Ukraine, chose to aid the enemy. In addition, the head of state reported clear signs that the Russian political leadership is attempting to compensate for significant losses on the front lines by intensifying covert mobilization, issuing mobilization orders, and summoning citizens to military training. Ukraine plans to officially convey this information to international partners as evidence of insufficient pressure on the Kremlin.

The address paid special attention to Special Operations Forces Day, which is celebrated in Ukraine. Volodymyr Zelenskyy congratulated the special forces on their professional holiday, calling the Special Operations Forces one of the strongest, most glorious, and most effective elements of Ukraine’s defense. The president expressed his sincere gratitude to the soldiers for their bravery, specifically thanking them for the personal meeting and the embroidered shirt they presented to him.
