Zelenskyy confirmed long-range strikes on oil refineries deep inside Russia

The Ukrainian Armed Forces have launched new long-range strikes against military targets on Russian territory and in the Black Sea. According to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the Ukrainian military struck targets more than 1,300 kilometers from the front lines, targeting oil infrastructure and the Russian navy.

The president said that Ukrainian forces successfully carried out strikes against targets deep within Russian territory.

Specifically:

  • in Bashkortostan, more than 1,300 km from the front line, the “Bashneft-Novoyl” oil refinery was struck;
  • in the Yaroslavl region, nearly 700 km from the Ukrainian border, the “Slavneft-Yanos” oil refinery was struck.

In addition to strikes on oil infrastructure, successful operations were also carried out in the Black Sea.

According to Zelenskyy, the Ukrainian military struck two Russian military patrol boats, as well as vessels of Russia’s so-called “shadow fleet.”

The president emphasized that such operations are aimed at reducing Russia’s oil revenues, which are used to finance the war against Ukraine.

“Today, our long-range sanctions have once again succeeded in curbing Russia’s oil revenues, which it uses to finance the war and the killing of Ukrainians. Ukraine’s defense forces struck the aggressor’s targets at a distance of over 1,300 km from the front line. In Bashkortostan, the “Bashneft-Novoyl” oil refinery was struck. In the Yaroslavl region—nearly 700 km from our border—the “Slavneft-Yanos” oil refinery was struck. Our responses to Russian aggression in the Black Sea were also successful. In particular, two military patrol boats and shadow fleet vessels were struck. “I thank all the soldiers of the Defense Forces who are systematically expanding our long-range capabilities and thereby increasing the chances for diplomacy. Russia must choose peace,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated.

The head of state announced this in his address.

On the night of August 5–6, the Yaroslavl Region of the Russian Federation came under attack by drones. Amid the Russian air defense operations, authorities temporarily blocked the exit from Yaroslavl toward Moscow. At the same time, reports emerged online about a possible strike on the Yaroslavl oil refinery.

Following the Russian strike on the warehouse, the Ranok publishing house is urgently reprinting the destroyed textbooks.

In Kyiv, a Russian shelling damaged the logistics center of the “Ranok” publishing house.

Russia cynically called the massive attack on Ukraine a “retaliatory strike.”

Due to the Russian attack in the Lviv region, more than 21,000 customers were left without power

As a reminder, overnight, the Air Defense Forces managed to neutralize 693 aerial targets, including 41 missiles and 652 unmanned aerial vehicles of various types.
