Zelenskyy warned Russia of symmetrical strikes against its logistics infrastructure in the event of new shelling of Ukraine
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that if Russia continues to shell civilian logistics infrastructure in Ukraine, the Ukrainian Armed Forces will launch even more powerful retaliatory strikes against Russia’s logistics system.
During an interview on the “Yedyni Novyny” telethon, the head of state emphasized that until now, Ukraine has focused primarily on the enemy’s military targets. However, the Ukrainian side has already thoroughly analyzed the vulnerabilities of Russia’s logistics system. In the event of an escalation by Moscow, Russian consumers will directly feel the consequences in the form of shortages of goods.
Zelenskyy also noted the high effectiveness of the 40-day operation launched on June 25 with the participation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Special Operations Forces, the Main Intelligence Directorate, the Security Service of Ukraine, and the Foreign Intelligence Service. Thanks to joint long-range and medium-range strikes, enemy losses are estimated at one trillion rubles, which has created serious logistical problems for Russia.

Total combat losses of Russian troops since the start of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, as of August 8, 2026, amount to approximately 1,456,610 soldiers.
On August 7, there were 192 combat engagements between Ukrainian defenders and Russian troops on the front lines. The occupiers were most active in the Pokrovsk direction—25 assaults were recorded there over the past 24 hours, and Ukrainian forces neutralized 56 Russian soldiers.
