Zelenskyy warns Russia of response to strikes on Ukraine's energy system
In Türkiye, the Turkish Anadolu Agency reported that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Russia, as an aggressor state, would receive a response if it strikes Ukraine's energy system in winter. According to him, Russia is preparing to attack Ukraine's energy infrastructure, and in the event of power outages, Kyiv will seek to respond accordingly.
Negotiations and an energy truce
Zelenskyy stressed that negotiations remain Ukraine's priority path toward ending the war. He called for progress toward a possible trilateral meeting of Ukraine, Russia, and the United States.
The president also listed establishing an energy truce, unblocking the Black Sea, and continuing exchanges of prisoners of war and civilians among the necessary steps. He separately mentioned children being held in Russia.

Risks to food security
According to Zelenskyy, prolonging the war creates challenges for Russia and the global economy, particularly for food and energy security. He said that disruptions to grain exports through the Black Sea could worsen shortages in vulnerable countries.
Zelenskyy compared the possible consequences of such disruptions to the situation in the Strait of Hormuz, but in the agricultural sector. In his opinion, resolving this problem should not remain solely Ukraine's responsibility.
The president also called on the US Congress to adopt sanctions legislation supported by the late Senator Lindsey Graham and urged the administration of US President Donald Trump to take more decisive action. He said sanctions should be imposed immediately to deprive Russia of the ability to finance its war against Ukraine every day.
