Destruction of a Russian Tu-95 at Engels Airfield: Video of the Attack Has Emerged
The Security Service of Ukraine has released details of a long-range special operation that resulted in the destruction of a Russian Tu-95 strategic bomber at the Engels military airfield in the Saratov Region of the Russian Federation.
The SBU reported that long-range drones were used for the strike, traveling approximately 800 kilometers to reach the target. According to preliminary data from the agency, the aircraft sustained critical damage as a result of the strike—its tail section was completely destroyed, rendering it inoperable.
The security service noted that Russia regularly uses Tu-95 aircraft to launch massive missile strikes on Ukrainian territory.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed the successful destruction of the strategic bomber and thanked SBU personnel for carrying out the operation.
The agency emphasized that the destruction of strategic aircraft is part of a systematic effort to reduce Russia’s military capabilities and limit the enemy’s ability to launch missile strikes on Ukrainian cities.
