The Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked the key port of Kavkaz in the Kerch Strait

During the night, attack drones struck targets near the port of Kavkaz in the Kerch Strait. According to reports from local authorities in the Krasnodar Krai and NASA satellite imagery, a fire broke out at the oil depot.

Strike drones attacked the oil depot at the port of Kavkaz in the Temryuk District of the Krasnodar Krai—a fire broke out at the marine terminal. That same night, bridges near Henichesk and Chongar were struck again, and explosions were heard in Reutov, Moscow Oblast—where the “Onyx” and “Zircon” missile production facilities are located. The oil depot in the port of Kavkaz plays a key role in supplying fuel to Russian-occupied territories—to Crimea and to areas in the Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, and Donetsk regions. There is no confirmation yet that the Reutov facilities were hit.

Veniamin Kondratyev, governor of the Krasnodar Krai, wrote about the fire at the maritime terminal on his Telegram channel. The source of the fire at the facility was detected by NASA’s FIRMS satellite service at 2:35 a.m. In terms of cargo turnover, the Port of Kavkaz ranks fifth in Russia and second in the Black Sea-Azov basin after Novorossiysk. The facility is located nearly 300 kilometers from the front line.

According to Veniamin Kondratyev, governor of the Krasnodar Krai, a fire broke out at the marine terminal.

The oil depot at the port plays a crucial role in supplying fuel to Russian-occupied territories—to Crimea, as well as to certain areas of the Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, and Donetsk regions. In addition to the “Kavkaz” port, bridges near Henichesk and Chongar—crossings used by the occupiers to facilitate logistics between mainland Russia and Crimea—were attacked again that same night. Explosions were also reported in Reutov, Moscow Oblast, where facilities producing “Onyx” and “Zircon” missiles are located, but there is no confirmation yet that these targets were hit.

The Temryuk District of the Krasnodar Krai is home to three key seaports—Taman, Temryuk, and Kavkaz—and all of them have already been targeted by Ukrainian drones in the past. The systematic destruction of fuel infrastructure is having real consequences. A fuel crisis lasted several weeks on the Crimean Peninsula due to Ukrainian drone strikes on oil depots and refineries.

In early June, Ukraine dealt one of the most painful blows to Russian military logistics in the south. The Ukrainian Armed Forces deployed new drones against the Chongar Bridge, destroying Russia’s logistical lifeline to Crimea and creating the threat of a logistical lockdown on the peninsula. The strike on the oil depot at the port of “Kavkaz” continues this strategy—Ukraine is systematically cutting off the occupied territories from fuel and cargo supplies from mainland Russia.

As a reminder, Russia attacked the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, causing a fire.

Prior to that, Russian KABs struck the Zaporizhzhia region, resulting in injuries.

Five State Emergency Service rescuers were killed as a result of the Russian attack on Kharkiv.
