The Ukrainian Armed Forces advanced on four fronts and liberated a village in Donetsk Oblast – ISW
ISW analysts have documented advances by Ukrainian forces near Kupiansk, Sloviansk, Chasovoy Yar, and Oleksandrivka. In the Donetsk region, the Defense Forces liberated the town of Peredbudova, according to the institute’s report.
Ukrainian troops have recently advanced or regained positions on several sections of the front—near Kupiansk, Sloviansk, Chasovyi Yar, and in the Oleksandrivka direction. Russian sources have also acknowledged the Defense Forces’ liberation of the village of Peredbudova in Donetsk Oblast, according to a new report by the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), as reported by UNN.
In the Kupiansk direction, geolocation data indicates that Ukrainian troops have advanced or are holding positions southeast of the city—near Hlushkivka and Novoosynove. Previously, Russian sources claimed that these areas were under the control of Russian forces.
The ISW also documented Ukrainian positions east and southeast of Sloviansk in areas near Yurkivka and Mykolaivka, where Russian forces had previously conducted infiltration operations or claimed a presence.
Advances near Chasovoy Yar and Oleksandrivka
Separately, analysts report a recent advance by the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the southwestern part of Chasovoy Yar. The presence of Ukrainian troops has also been documented in Virolyubivka, which, according to the ISW, casts doubt on Russian claims of control over a number of adjacent positions.
On the Oleksandrivka front, Russian military bloggers acknowledged that Ukrainian forces have liberated Peremoda. Additionally, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have entered Komar and are fighting for control of the settlement. Russian sources acknowledge that it is precisely along the Piddubne–Mirne–Komar line that Russian forces are facing significant difficulties in advancing.
Another local success was reported in Kostiantynivka—Ukrainian troops cleared a building in the eastern part of the city where a Russian group had infiltrated. In the Pokrovsk direction, Ukrainian marines also reported clearing approximately 5 square kilometers of territory of Russian saboteurs.

On the night of September 26, the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck a number of key facilities on Russian territory that support the Russian military machine. Among them were the Azov Optical-Mechanical Plant in the Rostov region and the “Ilsky” oil refinery in the Krasnodar region.
As a reminder, the Perm oil refinery in Russia ceased operations following an attack by Ukrainian drones on September 25. According to Reuters, a fire broke out at the facility, and pipelines, storage tanks, and processing units were damaged. It is not yet known when the refinery will be able to resume operations.
