Ukrainian Forces retake key positions in Kherson region — Voloshyn
Ukraine’s Armed Forces have forced Russian occupiers to retreat from Oleksiivskyi Island in the Kherson region. This was reported by Vladyslav Voloshyn, spokesperson for the Southern Defense Forces, in a comment to Ukrinform.
Active operations by Ukrainian troops and the demoralization of the enemy were cited as the main reasons for this victory.
“Our reconnaissance observes that positions on Oleksiivskyi Island have been abandoned. This happened as a result of active actions by Ukraine’s Defense Forces and the low morale of the servicemen stationed there,” Voloshyn said.
The Russian forces are now unable to restore observation posts in the area. This success highlights the effectiveness of Ukraine’s defense in the southern direction.
Meanwhile, Russia is weakening the Kherson front, redeploying troops to the Orikhiv direction. Airborne units are being pulled from Kherson to support intensified assaults there.
“On the Kherson front, the enemy is currently regrouping and moving airborne units to the Orikhiv direction to support the pace of assault operations,” the spokesperson explained.
Ukrainian forces recently eliminated Russian operational reserves in Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad. On the Kupiansk front, Ukrainian FPV drones destroyed an enemy artillery gun.
