Azerbaijan has suspended cooperation with the European Parliament over a resolution on Karabakh
The Azerbaijani Parliament has decided to suspend cooperation with the European Parliament. The decision was prompted by a resolution supporting the rights of Armenians in Nagorno-Karabakh. The decision calls for a halt to cooperation between the two sides in all areas.
This was reported in a message to the Azerbaijani service of Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty.
According to this decision, Azerbaijan’s participation in the EU-Azerbaijan Parliamentary Cooperation Committee is terminated.
At the same time, the procedure to terminate the Azerbaijani parliament’s membership in the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly has been initiated. Until this procedure is completed, the Azerbaijani delegation will not participate in any events organized by this body.
